Seneca Chamber Of Commerce: Proposed Minimum Wage Increase Is Bad For Finger Lakes

Governor Andrew Cuomo has proposed an increase in the state minimum wage. Seneca County Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Shipley says an increase would be bad for businesses in the Finger Lakes.

The Chamber believes that it will only hurt the people it's intended to help.

He says while some may argue that it's impossible to live on minimum wage, that's not completely true.

Cuomo's proposed the minimum wage increase would begin July 1st. The proposed increase is from $7.25 to $8.75 an hour.
