There's a lot of talk about the new, stricter gun laws in the state. The law, named the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act, or NY SAFE, would restrict ownership of assault weapons. Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb says the bill was hastily done. He says the people didn't get a chance to voice their opinions before the bill was passed.
The bill was signed into law nearly two weeks ago by Governor Andrew Cuomo making it the most comprehensive and severe gun control law in the entire country.
