A new City Manager has been chosen for the "Chosen Spot." The Canandaigua City Council has selected David Forrest from a field of five candidates who interviewed for the job. He'll succeed Kay James, who retires this spring.
Forrest has 18 years of local government management experience and is currently the Municipal Administrator in Norristown, Pennsylvania. We reached him there this morning. He says he is really drawn to Canandaigua.
Forrest has had the Norristown job since 2007. The Canandaigua Council will act on a resolution making the appointment at its regular meeting scheduled for February 7th. The appointment will be effective March 8th, and Forrest will be sworn into the office at the March 7th City Council meeting.
