A pickup truck and school bus collided shortly before 9:00 a.m. Thursday in the Town of Aurelius. The Auburn Citizen reports the crash happened at Clark Street Road and Cayuga Road. Police say the pickup truck was heading southeast on Clark Street Road while the Union Springs school bus, which carried 15 students, was waiting to make a left turn onto Cayuga Road.

State police say 19-year-old Mitchell Butler, of Cayuga, say he didn't keep right, crossed over hazard markings, and struck the bus head-on. Butler is due in Town of Aurelius Court February 13. He was cited for failure to keep right and crossing over hazard marks. The bus driver has been identified as Cynthia Diab, 49, of Union Springs.

Both drivers and two students were taken to Auburn Community Hospital. The names of the two students injured have not been released.
