The fire earlier this week in Tioga County that claimed the life of a Southern Tier firefighter has been ruled accidental.
Investigators believe the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction in a shed between 10 and 15 feet away from the home.
34 year old Matthew Porcari died from injuries he suffered while battling the blaze that destroyed a home in Newark Valley. Another firefighter that was injured was released from the hospital after being treated for burns.
