Pre-Kindergarten Program Seeks Geneva Kids

GENEVA, NY (Jan. 23, 2013) —The Geneva City School District universal pre-kindergarten program is recruiting participants for the 2013-14 school year.  September 2013 will mark the seventh year of the Geneva City School District-sponsored UPK program.

UPK is free for any Geneva City School District child who is 4 years old as of Dec. 1, 2013 and is eligible to enter kindergarten the following year. UPK is a half-day program promoting school readiness and focuses on all aspects of healthy development including social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. UPK classrooms are strategically located throughout the city of Geneva to enhance accessibility for all families. There is a limited number of slots available at each center and pre-registration is required.

There will be an information evening for prospective participants on Feb. 7 in the West Street School multi-purpose room at 6 p.m. Applications will be available for the first time at the information night. A representative from each UPK site will be available to answer questions.

If you have any questions please contact Kimberly Davis, family service facilitator at 781-4104.
