It was a Facebook post made by Schuyler County Sheriff Bill Yessman last Friday that he didn't expect to garner this much attention. Yessman wrote about last week's passage of new gun control laws in the state on the sheriff's department Facebook page and how disappointed he was it passed so quickly without review or comment from the public. Yessman said there's been concern about the law from county gun owners and advocates
Yessman believes the recent shootings in Connecticut and in Rochester that resulted in multiple deaths and nationwide attention is a mental health issue, not a gun issue.
