The Corning Incorporated Foundation has donated a 1.5-MILLION dollar grant to Guthrie Corning Hospital that will go toward a cancer center to be built at the new facility.
The donation adds to the Hospital's "Building Healthier Communities Campaign" which has now raised 3-MILLION dollars, 1 million shy of their goal.
Groundbreaking for the new hospital took place in April with completion expected by the summer of 2014.
