Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a package of tougher gun measures into law Tuesday evening, immediately bolstering New York’s ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines while giving the state more power to confiscate weapons from the mentally ill.
State Senator Tom O'Mara of Big Flats was one of 18 State Senators to vote against the gun bill Monday night. He feels this sweeping legislation was crafted in the shadows with no public input.
