It's been 11 months since community leaders turned the first shovel of dirt for Geneva General's 56-million dollar Journey to the Best Expansion and Renovation project. Finger Lakes Health Foundation Executive Director Lara Turbide tells us the first new wing the Emergency Department is slated to open at the beginning of the summer.
The new Geneva General Emergency Department will be more than twice as big as the current unit, going from 73-hundred square feet to 17-thousand. They will go from 9 exam rooms currently to 14. Two triage rooms are being planned and 5 observation rooms. On the west side of the campus a new three story tower is going up which will include new OR and ICU facilities and new patient rooms.
