A 16-year-old in the town of Sennett is facing some trouble. The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office says the teen called police around 3 o'clock Monday afternoon to report a burglary. Not long after police arrived to the home on Sharon Drive, Sheriff David Gould says an investigation uncovered no such burglary.
The 16-year-old, whose name has not been released because of his age, is charged with 3rd degree falsely reporting an incident and making a false statement.
Both are misdemeanors. He'll be appearing in Town of Sennett Court at a later date.
