Injured Ithaca Workers Remain Hospitalized

The two workers injured Saturday at a construction site in Ithaca where a new Fairfield Inn is being built were still hospitalized late Monday.

One worker is listed in critical condition, while the other is listed in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation found both workers were bricklayers working above the elevator shaft at the construction site when the scaffolding they were on fell through the floor, causing the duo to fall about four stories to the bottom of the elevator shaft.

The identities of the two workers is not being released at this time. OSHA is taking part in the investigation.
