Governor Cuomo's education commission has weighed in with its recommendations on full day pre-kindergarten after holding hearings across the state last year. Mark Scheerer reports one of the eight points, calling for state support of full-day pre-K classes, is being widely hailed by early education advocates.
The commission also proposed overhauling New York's public schools with longer teaching days and academic years, teacher competency exams and by recruiting top college graduates as educators.
