Easton Friedel, the Weedsport baby suffering from a rare skin condition, is back at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse and will likely spend his first Christmas there, said his family.
His family took him to the hospital Friday night after Baby Easton developed a fever and had trouble breathing. He's been in an out of the hospital since he came home from Cincinnati Children's Hospital the day after Thanksgiving.
His mother, Danielle Friedel, said doctors have put the baby on antibiotics and they are hopeful it won't be a long stay for him.
Easton has a genetic disease called epidermolysis bullosa. EB causes painful blistering that can lead to deadly infections. Easton was born in Auburn, but had been at Cincinnati Children's Hospital until the day after Thanksgiving, when he returned home to Weedsport.
