A nationally known criminologist from Steuben County is facing more sex related charges. State Police in Painted Post say 84-year old Herbert MacDonell of Corning, subjected a 16-year-old female to sexual contact. Authorities say the teen had attended a forensic seminar at MacDonell's home during the Summer of 2012. MacDonell is charged with forcible touching, exposure of a person, aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. This arrest comes after the victim came forward following another arrest where authorities say MacDonell took inappropriate photos of an 11-year-old girl on December 17th. He's been charged with sexual abuse for that arrest.

MacDonell was an expert witness in nationally covered cases like the O.J. Simpson murder trial and the Martin Luther King Junior murder trial.
