Cayuga Community College is pairing up with the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency to give people better access this winter to vegetables and other healthy food. The Walmart Foundation giving cash to the agency to fund the building of a high tunnel greenhouse at the school's campus in Auburn. Cold-hardy vegetables will be grown inside the greenhouse, and will be distributed by the Calvary Food Pantry.

The high tunnel, shown above, will also serve as a training site for project-based educational programs for interested faculty, students, staff, and community members who want to learn about season-extension techniques, drip irrigation, organic farming principles and practices, and sustainable methods of food production.
