A child was found wandering around the Canandaigua Walmart parking lot, and now her mother is facing charges. 27-year old Patricia Smith of Geneva has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after police say a seven-year-old child was found wandering around the parking lot.

State Police say they were called to the Canandaigua Walmart around 10:00 Friday night after someone saw that two children -ages seven and two- were left alone in Smith’s vehicle. The seven-year-old child was able to get out of the vehicle and was found wandering around, according to investigators. Troopers say over half an hour later, Smith returned to the vehicle. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in court on December 11.
