Chances are, you probably pay bills online. Cayuga County beginning to do the same. They've been paying bills to some vendors electronically, saving money on postage and check costs. County officials hope to save about $50,000 from this change in business.
The county has about 7,000 vendors, of which 28 are currently accepting e-payments. Any vendor who takes credit card payments can enroll.
Savings from the program aren't factored into next year's budget, but officials say it will likely be a large part of the 2014 budget.
