A Wayne County man was struck and killed yesterday as he was attempting to load a van on to a flatbed truck along County Road 7 in Manchester. State Police say 54-year old Michael Young of Newark was killed when he was struck by vehicle driven by 69-year old King Lewis of Lyons. Another man helping to load the van onto the flatbed, 53-year old James Carmel of Manchester, jumped out of way and was not injured. State Police investigators say they don't know why Lewis did not slow down or change lanes to avoid the accident. Lewis was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The investigation of the accident is continuing.

One man was struck by a minivan and killed Thursday afternoon.
According to YNN, state Police say two men were loading a van onto a flatbed truck on County Road 7 at Martin Road in the town of Manchester around 12:30pm. A minivan traveling south then struck one of the men, killing him. The other man jumped out of the way and was not hurt.
The operator of the van was taken to Clifton Springs Hospital, according to police.
