Former Bloomfield Man Goes to Court On 340 Counts Of Sex Abuse

The grand jury indictment was 82 pages long containing 340 criminal counts.
41-year old Michael Lewis, of Batavia is accused of allegedly raping two pre-teen girls numerous times from April 2010 to November 2011 at his then home in East Bloomfield.
He'll be in Ontario County Court for the first time Wednesday.
Assistant Ontario County DA James Ritts who is prosecuting the case tells Finger Lakes News Radio how the grand jury come up with 340 counts?
If convicted on the top counts in the indictment , Lewis could get four life sentences. Trial is currently scheduled for the week of February 25th, but that can change as Lewis is bringing a new attorney with him to court Wednesday.
He has been in the Ontario County Jail for the last few months on a quarter million dollar bail.
