The Cayuga County Legislature is losing some money, but it's not about a deficit. Legislators have approved unanimously ending extra pay for majority and minority leaders. They've been receiving $750 in addition to their regular salary.
There's also a move to end county health care coverage for legislators, meaning they'd have to start paying for their own coverage. If the proposal passes, it wouldn't take effect until January 1, 2016.
