A 42 year old Schuyler County man was one of the two people killed Thursday when a helicopter crashed near the Chemung River in the city of Corning. The helicopter, contracted by New York State Electric and Gas Corporation, crashed while inspecting transmission lines just inside the Steuben County city.
The pilot, 24 year old Mackenzie Bleth of Eugene, Oregon, worked for the company that owned the chopper. His passenger was Dale Crout of Watkins Glen, a NYSEG employee that worked out of the Horseheads office.

The Federal Aviation Administration is continuing its investigation into Thursday's accident
