A joint investigation by the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office, the Trumansburg Police Department and the Schuyler County Animal Control Officer has led to the arrest of a 30 year old Trumansburg man.
Charles Santmyer was arrested Tuesday and charged with abandonment of animals, a misdemeanor, after allegedly abandoning a cat and dog on a town road in Hector. The investigation revealed Santymyer intentionally left the animals to fend for themselves without proper care.
Santmyer was issued an appearance ticket for Hector Town Court.
