McNamara Murder Trail Set for Late March

36 year old David McNamara was back in a Cayuga County Courtroom this morning where is again stands accused of strangling to death Katie Socci in her Swift Street home on June 14th 2011. The setting today was a pre-trail conference.

The first murder indictment against McNamara was dismissed by Judge Mark Fandrich who ruled the DA's office didn't let him testify in front of the grand jury.  That ruling was overturned on appeal to the Appellate Division court.

DA Jon Budelman says McNamara's trial is expect to start on March 18th next year.

McNamara is currently charged with second degree murder. You may remember that he allegedly buried  Socci in a shallow grave along a nature trail adjacent to Dunning Avenue.
