An English teacher with the Bath-Haverling school district has been arrested on forcible touching charges in connection with an alleged classroom incident that involved a 13 year old female student.
According to the arrest report, the victim claims 62 year old James Cain grabbed her left breast with his hand "for the purpose of degrading or abusing such person or for gratifying the defendant's sexual desire." Investigators say the alleged incident happened in the Dana Lyon Middle School last month.
The teen reported the incident to school officials, who contacted authorities. A witness verified the victim's allegations according to village police.
Cain is a married father of two who resides in Bath. According to the district, Cain was hired in Bath in the early 1990’s.
