Election Day is less than two weeks away, and debates are winding down. Another congressional debate between Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle and Green Party candidate Ursula Rozum is in the books. Cayuga Community College played host to the candidates.
Both debated the economy and job creation. Buerkle told the crowd the government should step aside and allow the private sector to create jobs. Rozum argued the government has a role in getting unemployed people back to work.
The debate once again had a missing component -- Dan Maffei wasn't there. The Democratic candidate hasn't appeared at any of the debates, but will be speaking next Tuesday at the Auburn Rotary Club. All three are seeking to become the Representative of the 24th congressional district, which includes Cayuga County.
