The American Red Cross of the Finger Lakes NY Region, headquartered at 50 Prince Street in Rochester, is pleased to announce the addition of JudieLynn N. McAvinney as Chief Program Officer. In this capacity, McAvinney is responsible for overseeing the structure, implementation, and service delivery of Red Cross programs, including disaster services, youth programs, volunteer development, and more.
Most recently, McAvinney served as Executive Staff Assistant to former Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy and present Mayor Tom Richards. She also served in the City’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services as Deputy Commissioner for four years. Prior to that, McAvinney was with the YMCA of Greater Rochester for 15 years, the last 5 of which she served as Executive Director of the Maplewood and Southwest Family Branches.
McAvinney is currently working toward a PhD in Public Administration. She holds an MS.Ed from Nazareth College in Rochester and a BA in Education from SUNY Plattsburgh. She has served on a variety of community boards and resides in Rochester.
The American Red Cross of the Finger Lakes NY Region has also named Erin D. Caldwell the Regional Director of Communications. Caldwell has been with the American Red Cross for nearly two years and has been responsible for the organization’s regional communications, public relations, and marketing efforts. Prior to the Red Cross, Caldwell worked in corporate marketing. She holds an MS in Strategic Marketing from Roberts Wesleyan and a BS in Communication from SUNY Geneseo. She serves on the board of the Genesee Land Trust and resides in the town of West Bloomfield in Ontario County.
