A longtime Southern Tier television journalist and radio personality died over the weekend. Carl Proper died Saturday morning at the Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
Proper started work at WETM television in Elmira in 1957 and retired in August 2006.. Proper also worked for several Corning-Elmira area radio stations.
He was admitted to the hospital for an undisclosed illness Friday afternoon and passed away Saturday morning.
Carl Proper was 74 years old.
