First Grade Class Inspired by Guest Illustrator
South Seneca first grade classes have been studying the life cycle of a butterfly, from egg to butterfly.
Dan Alsheimer, a South Seneca alumnus (class of ’07) and recent graduate of RIT with a BFA degree in illustration, visited students to demonstrate the process of illustrating as well as becoming an illustrator.

Drawing the egg, caterpillar, pupa and butterfly stages, students were amazed at his talent and asked many questions including, ‘how did you get so good?’ Dan answered in a true life skill form that everything takes a lot of practice and hard work.
Dan is a local Illustrator/Designer with a love of portraiture. Thank you, Dan, for sharing your talent. For more information on this illustrator: www.danielalsheimer.com
