An inmate at the Steuben County Jail has been arrested for assaulting a corrections officer. 23 year old Eric Drake of Hornell now faces assault charges.
Investigators say Drake was involved in an altercation with another inmate around 11 last Tuesday night when he allegedly bit the hand of the unidentified corrections officer that was attempting to restrain him. The officer was treated at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital for his injuries. .
Drake was originally jailed on a petit larceny charge
