Pirate Toy Fund Replaces Toys Lost In Penn Yan Flooding

The Christmas spirit abounds here at the end of August. Three months ago during the flooding, Penn Yan's ”Christmas for the Needy” organization lost the one thousand toys they had set aside for Yates County youngsters. The Rochester based Pirate Toy Fund jumped in, pledging to replace every soggy teddy bear, Barbie and checkerboard that were ruined. Gary "The Happy Pirate" Smith and his crew delivered replacement toys today and Smith tells us they got a very warm welcome and a few helping hands emptying the truck.

Smith tells our Joe Nittler they brought donated toys for kids of all ages.

Corrigan Moving of Rochester provided the truck.
