Cuomo Sends Letter to Obama Seeking Federal Funding for Yates County

Governor Andrew Cuomo sent a letter to President Obama Monday asking for federal assistance for Yates County after last month's flooding.

The letter states there is nearly 10 million dollars in validated damage in the village of Penn Yan and Yates County and it will cost each resident more than 348 dollars to fix. Cuomo says help from the federal government is "critical" for New York to recover physically and economically.

Last week, it was determined the county exceeded the New York State threshold for federal assistance from flood damage.
