Yates County Afternoon Flooding Information

Keuka College has just called Keuka Housing Council and offered some apartments for the displaced people in the area.  They cannot be ready until May 28th however they are furnished and they only need to bring clothes.

They will have 4 2 bedroom apts. (4 single beds in each) and 3 1 bedroom apts. 2 beds in each (single).  Please call Renee Bloom at 315-536-8707, ext. 3

Road closure: Phelps Rd T/Potter is closed from Emerson Rd to Italy Valley Rd due to flooding

The following is for Milo Town residents that were asked to turn off their grinder sewage pumps earlier today:

Milo Grinder Pump turn-on schedule:

4 p.m. residents at the village line to 140 East Lake Road

4:30 p.m. Country Estates residents

5 p.m. residents at 140 East Lake Road to 350 East Lake Road and White Tail Lane

6 p.m. 350 East Lake Road to 615 East Lake Road

It is normal when the circuit breaker is turned on that the alarm and alarm light will be activated. It should shut off at 15-20 minutes

Foodlink is responding to Yates County, sending 2,000 pounds to the food pantry in Penn Yan due to additional need

Rt 364 @ Pierce HIll Rd T/Middlesex closed (not Perice Hill as previously reported)

If anyone has lost their medications due to the flooding, they can go to the American Red Cross Shelter at Penn Yan Academy or call 315-719-3726 for help in replacing them.

For insurance purposes, please take pictures of any and all damage.

If anyone is in need of Heavy Equipment, the Alfred State College Heavy Equipment Program can help call Carol Wood at 2-1-1

The Living Well has housing for small dogs and pets-call 315-521-6883

The Village of Penn Yan is under a water conservation advisory BUT NOT a boil water advisory

If someone is in need of crisis counseling, they may call 315-531-2400, 315-531-2000, 521-6883, or go to the American Red Cross Shelter at Penn Yan Academy

Fans are needed-box, standing, etc.  Please bring them to the Living Well at PY United Methodist Church 166 Main St on the corner of Main and Chapel St


The Friendship House has lots of fresh produce they are giving out at their location 5614 Williams St. Middlesex, NY.  They are open today (Friday 5/16) and Saturday 5/17 from 9am-3pm.

We have received an emergency shipment of dog and cat food from our Shelter Partners at Hills Science Diet. The food is here and available for the taking to anyone who is in need. Please spread the word.
