In an exclusive Finger Lakes Morning News interview this morning, James A. Wilmot, Assistant Vice President of Gaming for Wilmorite, said the company's plan for a casino in the Seneca County town of Tyre has several advantages over competing proposals, including that the Wilmorite proposal calls for new construction.
As always in real estate, there's location, location, location.
Wilmot says when you've had your fill of gaming, there will be plenty of other things to do at the casino complex.
Wilmot says he expects nine thousand visitors per day, leading to a huge economic impact for the area.
Hobart and William Smith Colleges President Mark Gearan has been named to head the panel that will decide among competing casino proposals, subject to State Senate confirmation. Wilmot outlines the procedure once the site commission is in place.
