2013 was a busy year for first responders in Central New York. Major events like heavy floods and ice storms tested the resources of the American Red Cross Central New York Region like no other year on record. Communications Officer Matt Michael says the year was challenging not just in our neck of the woods.
Michael says that, while 2013 was their busiest year ever, they're going into 2014 strong.
Michael says Red Cross volunteers responded to over 400 disasters locally, and in 24 countries. The Central New York Region of the American Red Covers covers 16 counties, including Cayuga and Onondaga.
