Another after the holiday bill is heading our way in Cayuga County. Tomorrow (December 31st) the Cayuga County Office of Real Property Tax Services will mail the County Town tax bills for all towns outside of the City of Auburn.
Taxpayers should receive their bills by the end of the week. Payments made by February 10th will not collect interest. County taxes paid after the 10th will accrue 1% interest per month.
Anyone who does not receive a bill should contact the town tax collector. According to the County Director Kelly Anderson, not receiving a bill will not waive the penalty applied for failing to pay.
For taxes paid through an escrow account, the bill will go to the bank holding the mortgage payment.
Tax exemption applications are due prior to February 1, 2014 for Auburn and March 1, 2014 for all other Cayuga County towns.
Auburn bills for County tax will go out at the end of January 2014.
