Auburn Mayor Comments on Replacing City Clerk

The city of Auburn will have no City Clerk at the start of the new year. Current City Clerk Debby McCormick gets sworn in Wednesday as a City Councilor, which means she will leave the clerk's office. Auburn Mayor Mike Quill tells Finger Lakes News Radio a decision about a new city clerk will be decided early next year.

Auburn City Councilor-elect Debby McCormick

Quill says McCormick, who's been city clerk for a dozen years, will be hard to replace.

Until the City Council selects a new clerk, Deputy City Clerk Coleen LaMay will fill the gap. The first regular weekly council meeting of 2014 is January 9th at six o'clock at City Hall.
