Cha-ching! Earlier this month Governor Andrew Cuomo handed out Regional Economic Development Council Awards. A pool of over 719-million-dollars was split between 10 economic development councils. Cayuga County received a nice chunk of change. Andrew Fish, interim director of the Cayuga Economic Development Agency tells Finger Lakes News Radio the money is going toward three different projects.
Fish says additional grant money was also awarded.
Fish adds that, although Cayuga County was not ranked as a top five performer, the 66.9 million dollars awarded was the largest amount of money for non-top performing counties. Meanwhile, Fish tells us that Cuomo's new approach to making the state friendlier to new businesses is a good start. but not a total solution.
Fish was a guest on the Finger Lakes Morning News on 98.1/1590 WAUB. Listen to the full interview here.
