The Schuyler County man sentenced last month by a federal judge to spend the rest of his life in prison had his sentencing in county court Thursday.
Schuyler County Judge Dennis Morris sentenced Darryl Vonneida to 21 years in state prison. In April, he pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child in Schuyler County.
Vonneida was convicted in February of all 14 federal charges he faced, including the sexual abuse of multiple children and producing child pornography. The town of Dix resident admitted to producing videos in which he coereced four children, all under the age of 12 at the time, to engage in sexual activity and even acts of strangulation.
Vonneida's sentencing was delayed last week. The 63 year old has three prior sex abuse convictions and will serve both sentences in federal prison.
