Food, beverages, and agriculture define the Finger Lakes to the rest of the world more so than any other aspect of our region. Even though the lakes lend an attractive
landscape, it's the wine and locally-sourced cuisine that makes residents proud and drives visitors back.
The Finger Lakes Institute at Hobart and William Smith Colleges is presenting an evening public forum focused on the development of food styles and wines in the Finger Lakes, and emerging trends for sustainable tourism tied to agriculture.

is the co-owner of Experience! The Finger Lakes
, a touring and events company in Ithaca, NY. She recently authored a new book, Culinary History of the Finger Lakes
. In addition to showing off the best that the Finger Lakes has to offer, she regularly guest lectures at regional colleges and universities, and serves on the Board of the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance, and the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce.
This speaking event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to carpool if necessary, and park in the Medbery Lot at the main entrance to Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The Library is a very short walk to the south, across Pulteney Street from the new building construction site.
