2015 Tractor Safety Certification Course for Youth

The Hazardous Occupation in Agricutlural Law requires that youth ages 14 to 16 have at least 24 hours of tractor safety and maintenance instruction in order to drive a tractor on a farm orther than that owned by their parents.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County is offering a Tractor Safety Certification Course for Youth this spring.  This is open to all youth and not just 4-H members.

Cost: $35 (includes student manual)

Registration Deadline: March 7, 2015

Times:  Mondays from 6-9 p.m.: March 16, 23, 30; April 13, 20; and testing is Saturday, April 25th and begins at 12:30 p.m.

Location:  Various farms and locations around Cayuga County so that we are able to provide a hands on awareness to balance the workbook learning segments.

Do you have questions as you prepare to complete your 2014 federal tax return?  Then Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension (SCCCE) may be able to help.  On Thursday, January 29th SCCCE will link into a webinar from the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension on Personal Income Tax Preparation and Filing.  An IRS representative will discuss options for free tax filing, provide information about tax credits & deductions, and demonstrate IRS tools to help you with your return.  There will also be a representative of the Seneca County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program on hand to tell about the local program and take questions.  The webinar will take place on Thursday, January 29th from noon to 1pm in the conference room of the SCCCE office on the 3rd floor of the Main Street Shop Centre in Waterloo, NY.  Participants are welcome to bring their lunch and drinks will be available.  The webinar is free but registration is requested by calling 315-539-9251 or emailing seneca@cornell.edu.
