Farmland Protection Program Informational Meeting

Do you have farmland in Seneca County you want to protect from development? 

Come to our informational meeting about the NYS Farmland Protection Program. Elizabeth Newbold, from the Finger Lakes Land Trust, will speak about the program and you will learn more about the application process. We’ll also discuss the process for submitting a pre-application to the Seneca County Agriculture Enhancement Board, which will then rank them and submit them to the Finger Lakes Land Trust or The New York Agricultural Land Trust (NYALT). 

This meeting will be held at the Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension Conference Room at 9:00 am on Thursday May 7th. Please pre-register for this event- registration is free.

Rose Hill Mansion Opens

The Rose Hill Mansion will open for the 2015 season on Friday, May 1. Administered by the Geneva Historical Society, the Greek Revival mansion and National Historical Landmark perches above Seneca Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes.

Rose Hill Mansion is located at 3373 Route 96A, about a mile south of Routes 5&20, near Geneva, New York. The house is open May 1 to October 31, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Mondays and July 4. The last daily tour is at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, at 4 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sundays. The grounds are open year round, free of charge.
