Athena ACE Nominees Sought

The Athena Award for Continuing Education (ACE) Association celebrates the 8th annual year of the Athena ACE Scholarship.  Application forms are available in the “Application” section on our website, and can be submitted electronically to or by mail to the following address:

Applications for the scholarship will be accepted until Saturday, June 25th at 4:00 pm.

The scholarship is open to women ages 25 and older that are enrolled (or plan to be enrolled) in a qualified educational program by September 30, 2016, and, who live in eastern Ontario, Seneca or Yates counties. Qualified educational programs may include: formal higher education (college degree) programs or any certification or training program (including a GED) that is necessary for the recipient to advance in her career or pursue a stated career goal.
The Athena ACE Scholarship supports women developing their capacity for leadership in our community by pursuing additional education.  The scholarship will be awarded to one or more women that demonstrate the qualities promoted by the ATHENA International program: excellence, creativity and initiative in her profession, valuable service by contributing time and energy to her community, and assistance to other women in reaching their full potential.
The Athena ACE Association will award up to $2500 in scholarship assistance.  The recipient(s) will be announced in August, 2016.

Walking Trail

In partnership with Our Town Rocks (OTR), Dundee Central School is pleased to share the opening of the  DCS Walking Trail. The DCS Walking Trail is a walking course that has been identified for community members to walk inside the school building during the cold winter months. One course includes stairs and a second does not. The Walking Trail is clearly marked and can be accessed by parking by the outside basketball court and using the entrance by the nurse's office. The Walking Trail is open to the public on days that school is in session, Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 7:15 am and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Working together to promote health and wellness in our community!

Pancake Breakfast
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

The last free Pancake Breakfast at the Ministry Center (former St. Mary School) located at 35 Center St. in Waterloo will be May 31. Live entertainment will be provided by Bobby McGee from 8-10 a.m. Breakfasts will presume again in September. For more information call the Ministry Center at 539-2944.

Seneca Cayuga Arc Golf Tournament

Seneca Cayuga ARC Golf Tournament

       Seneca Cayuga ARC has announced that its 18th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, July 20th at Highland Park Golf Club in Auburn, with a shotgun start at 11:00 am.

    The tournament format is a four-person scramble.  Individual player cost is $95; a discounted fee of $350 has been set for teams.   Lunch, dinner, several on-course contests, team photo, and gift bag are included.  Pro shop dollars will be awarded to the top 3 scratch and top 3 handicap teams.    

      With several sponsor levels available, ranging from $125 to $1,650, there are many ways to support this event. 

     All proceeds will benefit ARC’s underfunded programs and services, such as recreation for children, teens and adults, autism support services and Camp Columbus, the agency’s day summer camp on Owasco Lake.
