S & S Auxiliary Doll Drawing

The Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is conducting a drawing for a Danbury Mint collector doll “Maryann  Ballerina” by Susan Wakeen. The doll can be viewed in the Peppermint Parlor at the Hospital, 418 North Main Street, Penn Yan. 

Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and are available at the Peppermint Parlor at Soldiers & Sailors, from members of the Auxiliary and volunteers at Soldiers & Sailors, or from the Community Services office at the Hospital (315-531-2053). The drawing will be held on Friday, June 19. 

Proceeds from the drawing will be used by the Auxiliary to support projects at the Hospital and Homestead.
Rose Hill Mansion Opens

The Rose Hill Mansion will open for the 2015 season on Friday, May 1. Administered by the Geneva Historical Society, the Greek Revival mansion and National Historical Landmark perches above Seneca Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes.

Rose Hill Mansion is located at 3373 Route 96A, about a mile south of Routes 5&20, near Geneva, New York. The house is open May 1 to October 31, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Mondays and July 4. The last daily tour is at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, at 4 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sundays. The grounds are open year round, free of charge.

Crystal Springs and the Lost Resort

“Is Anterior Supine Hip Replacement Right for You?” will be presented on Wednesday, May 27 as part of Finger Lakes Health’s Spring Dine & Discuss Series. Nitin Banwar, M.D. and Mihail “Dr.  Mike” Radulescu, M.D., FRCSC, orthopaedic surgeons, will present the program at the Ramada Inn – Geneva Lakefront.  Dinner will begin at 6 p.m.

                Dr. Banwar and Dr. Radulescu will discuss anterior supine hip replacement, a lesser-invasive, tissue-sparing alternative to traditional hip replacement. The technique is designed to help patients return more quickly to their active lifestyles. The physicians will explain details of the procedure and explain who is a candidate for this hip replacement method.
