Animal Crackers
1:00 AM - 1:00 AM

The Cornell University Department of Animal Science is pleased to announce Animal Crackers 2016 "Animal Crackers: Kids are Udderly Moomentous!" on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Cornell University.  The up-coming program will incorporate both goat and dairy cattle topics for youth ages 9-12 or those with a beginners/intermediate knowledge of the species.  All youth, 4-H and non-4-H, are invited to participate. Adult chaperones are also invited to attend to make Udderly Moomentous a family event!

Interesting, educational, hands-on activities are planned to make Animal Crackers a memorable teaching event.  Participants will have the opportunity to learn goat or dairy care, biology, or management while having fun in two different learning tracts (goat): beginners and intermediates. There will also be sessions on making ice cream, animal demonstrations, and much, much more!

Cost of the program will be $15 for youth (adult chaperones are free!) and everyone is asked to bring their own lunch. Registration for the event must be done through your local Cornell Cooperative Extension Office and must be completed no later than April 29, 2016.  All groups must have at least one chaperone per species tract.  More information can be found on the Animal Crackers website: http://4h.ansci.cornell.edu/events-2/animal-crackers/topics/. Mark your calendars for one of the most exciting animal science programs of 2016! Contact Susan at 315-539-9251 or smc226@cornell.edu with questions or to register.

The 39 Steps
8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Seneca Falls NY: Seneca Community Players’ production of John Buchan's The 39 Steps will open this Friday at 8PM, at the Douglas Avery Performing Arts Center of Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls.

The 39 Steps is a melodrama adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock.   This madcap, fast paced spy story is being directed by Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) Award winning Director Eric Jansen of Clifton Springs.

Although the cast of characters is large, just a handful of actors play the many parts.  Steve Mitchell plays the part of the  hero Richard Hannay, Lisa Rood plays all three women with whom he has romantic interest, and John Faylo, Bill Webster, Charlie Manaseri, & Jim Porto play every other character in the show: heroes, villains, men, women & children.

"This cast has been working their extremely hard, and has been having a lot of fun together in rehearsals, which will translate into tight, quality performances" says Mr. Jansen of his hand picked cast.

Show dates are April 29, 30, May 1, 6, & 7. All curtain times are at 8PM except for a Sunday Matinee of 2PM on May 1.

Tickets are $12 in advance, and $14 at the door. Tickets are available online at senecacommunityplayers.org, at WomanMade Products, 91 Fall Street in Seneca Falls (315-568-9364), and at Area Records, 74 Seneca Street in Geneva.
