Red Cross Volunteers Needed

To sign up for any of the following volunteer opportunities, please contact the American Red Cross in the Finger Lakes at 315-568-9436.

*Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers in Northern Seneca County. Must be friendly, trustworthy, able to walk up and down stairs, and able to drive or ride in a vehicle for one-two hours making frequent stops to deliver meals to clients. 

*Disaster Responders for Ontario, Seneca and Yates Counties.  Must demonstrate commitment to the mission of the Red Cross, work with other team members to meet the immediate emergency needs of individuals and families affected by a disaster. and be 18 years of age or older.

*Receptionist in the Finger Lakes Chapter office in Seneca Falls.  Must be friendly, trustworthy and have strong communication skills. Duties include greeting visitors, answering multi-line phone system, taking accurate messages and assisting with special projects as needed.

*Blood Drive Volunteers in Ontario, Seneca and Yates Counties. Duties include registering donors, serving refreshments, monitoring donors after donation process is completed, and signing individuals up for their next donation.

Blood Drive

Living Center Geneva - South, 45 Mason Street, Geneva, will host an American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, August 21. The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Basement of Living Center Geneva - South.

Donors can make an appointment by calling (315) 787-4252, or they can simply walk-in during the event.

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at Geneva General Hospital, 198 North ?Street, Geneva, NY, 14456, on Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You are eligible to give blood if you are in generally good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and are 16 years of age or older.

To make an appointment, please call 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.

Cayuga Lake Sunset Paddle

Join the education staff from the Montezuma Audubon Center on Thursday August 21st from 5:30-8:00 for a canoe/kayak paddle on the north end of Cayuga Lake to explore the late summer bird migration. Migrating raptors, shorebirds, and songbirds can be seen soaring high over the lake and hugging the shoreline. Bring your own canoe/kayak or rent one from us. Fee: $8.00/child without rental, $13.50/adult without rental, $25/solo kayak rental, $40/canoe rental (maximum 2 adults plus 1 child).Registration is required, please call (315) 365-3588 or e-mail montezuma@audubon.org
