Registration Open for the Second Annual East Hill Family Medical, Inc.’s Amazing Race

Teams, Sponsors & Stations Can Sign Up Now!

(February 9, 2015; Auburn, NY)… Registration for the 2015 East Hill's Amazing Race is now open online at www.easthillsamazingrace.com! Set to take place on Sunday, April 26th, the leisurely competition will once again challenge 2-person teams to trek through downtown Auburn, visit different stations, and undertake an assortment of interesting and fun challenges. Registration is $40 per team and includes participant t-shirts, goody bags, and admission to the after party at the Knights of Columbus on Market Street. Registration is open until April 1st, and all the details can be found at www.easthillsamazingrace.com.

Proceeds from East Hill’s 2015 Amazing Race and its sponsorships will supportthe purchase of a panographic x-ray machine that will keep the dental department up-to-date with 100% digital technology for advanced and more streamlined care.  It will also complete and be compatible with East Hill’s electronic dental and medical records.

Research has shown that tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood illness and may lead to difficulty eating, speaking, socializing, and sleeping, in addition to causing poor overall health. Dental problems also negatively affect school attendance and performance, with 51 million school hours lost to dental-related illness each year.  Additionally, an estimated 164 million work hours are lost each year due to dental disease, and these lost wages and their effect on the economy represent billions of dollars. In 2013, East Hill provided medical, dental, and behavioral health services to 10,594 individuals; 3,459 of those individuals are dental patients, including children.

Race route stations and sponsors are currently signing on to make the day a fun-filled event while simultaneously raising funds to help maintain availability of East Hill Family Medical’s health care services.  Sponsors so far include Fidelis, Knights of Columbus, Ivoclar Vivadent, and Crème della Crème Copywriting & Communication, and a variety of sponsorship levels and activities are available.

Modeled after the popular Emmy-winning primetime show, East Hill's Amazing Race is open to participants ages 13 and up. Each 2-person team will be given a map with clues to take them across downtown Auburn and to the stations where they’ll complete challenges before moving to the next location. They’ll also have opportunities to stop at pit stops to have time shaved off their overall race time. The three teams—one from each different competition route—that finish with the best overall time win.

Friends, family members, and all those who want to support the participants are invited to attend the after party, which will begin at 3:30 pm and feature great food, music, prize drawings, and more.  After party tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online at www.easthillsamazingrace.com or at the Knights of Columbus on the day of the event.

Designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center in June 2012, East Hill Family Medical, Inc.  provides full dental services in the Auburn Enlarged City School District at Genesee, Herman, and Seward Elementary Schools, as well as Auburn Junior and Senior High Schools, as part of the Community Schools Grant. Additionally, through a program funded by a CHOMPERS grant from the Central and Western NY Health Foundation, East Hill provides comprehensive dental services to children enrolled at the Cayuga Seneca Community Action Agency’s Head Start program.
