Wayne County Apple Tasting Tour

The 17th Annual Wayne County Apple Tasting Tour helps families and apple lovers experience apple season In New York. Wayne County (the largest apple producing county in the state) partners with 15 local businesses and farms to host the Apple Tasting Tour, a unique and fun twist on an annual harvest event. Visitors can pick up a tour brochure and follow the map to find each of the tour stops, taking part in apple picking, hay rides, wine tasting, and kids activities. October 10 - 13 (Columbus Day Weekend) is the tour's big Tasting Weekend.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at the Finger Lakes Community College - Geneva, 90 Pulteney Street, Geneva, NY, 14456, on Thursday, October 2, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

You are eligible to give blood if you are in generally good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and are 16 years of age or older.

Walk and Talk for Health
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

It’s time to dust off those walking shoes, get outside and come join Finger Lakes Health for the fifth season of the Walk &Talk for Health program. 

Community members are encouraged to join with Finger Lakes Health providers for a brief walk and to start improving their health. This free program will run one time per month for six months – May through October. In between the walks sponsored by the health system, walkers are encouraged to form teams of two to 10 people to walk more regularly and even to compete against other teams in the region.

Penn Yan walks will be on the Keuka Outlet Trail, starting at the Boat Launch off Liberty and Keuka streets, beginning at 5:30.

How cool would it be to meet a kangaroo? Come find out as we get up close and personal with Penny the gray kangaroo, Sidney the parma kangaroo and Beatrice the bush-tailed bettong! To register, call 315-539-5624.
