Because its annual book sale was rained out, the Yates County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has rescheduled the sale for 8 a.m.-Noon on Saturday, August 4 on Main Street in downtown Penn Yan. Come support a great cause – college education for women – by shopping at the sale. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund an annual scholarship for a Yates County woman wanting to return to her academic studies.
 NOTE: In the event of inclement weather on August 4, the sale will be held on the side porch of the Penn Yan United Methodist Church, located at Chapel and Main.
 “The book selection is always terrific, and everybody loves to browse and shop for their summer reading,” said co-president Jean MacAlpine. “The AAUW book sale is a great cause for our community.” Prices will be 75 cents for paperbacks and $1.25 for hardcover books.
