The Rochester Folk Art Guild will host a “bowl throwing party” on Thursday, August 16^th from 10:30 a.m. -12:00 noon at the pottery shop, 1445 Upper Hill Road, Middlesex.  The goal is to have volunteer potters create 75 ceramic bowls to be used at Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes annual Empty Bowls Event to be held in Geneva on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 and Auburn on Tuesday, October 23, 2012.

Funds raised will be used for programs serving vulnerable children and families in Ontario, Seneca, Yates and Cayuga counties.Art students from Geneva City Schools, Port Byron schools, Cato schools, Cayuga Community College Studio Art & Design Program, Weedsport Schools and Auburn High School will also contribute to the project by donating pottery bowls that they have created.
